What’s happening to me?!

I did some work on a CakePHP site earlier today, and I pretty much hated every minute of it. Somehow, I’ve gone from the kind of person who does everything in PHP, to one of those fanatical Ruby on Rails developers. There’s only one thing for it: I must re-write everything I’ve ever done in RoR! OK, maybe I won’t go that far. Yet…

Interesting… I was googling around today wondering whether I should start branching out and looking at other languages. Horrifically enough I had a look at Java servlets since I’ve actually been programming some Java stuff recently.

Kinda freaky that we’d be doing the same kind of thing. Don’t think I’ll ever get on with RoR though.

I thought exactly the same, but once you get used to its little quirks, it’s really awesome. There’s still a couple of things that get on my nerves, which I plan to post about sometime soon, but other than that, I’m hooked! Java servlets eh? Interesting! I’ve never really considered things like Java for web work, but I think that’s more because of the prevalence of interpreted languages for use on servers more than anything else. You must let me know how you get on!
